Document Description
The contractor will conduct a pilot scale demonstration and test the previously developed aluminum mini-channel solar water heating technology on residential/commercial building types and climate zones in California that have been identified by the contractor as having the greatest potential for cost and energy savings. The contractor will then identify pathways to the marketplace and develop a business plan that will facilitate the technology's introduction into the marketplace. The contractor will also design and optimize copper mini-channel solar thermal technology for potential use in commercial and industrial applications. The optimized design will then be tested to determine if useable industrial grade steam can be produced and determine what the applicable ideal commercial/industrial scenarios would be. The contractor will then identify commercial/industrial sites for demonstrating the optimal copper mini-channel solar technology. The demonstration will attempt to prove the feasibility, energy savings, and cost effectiveness of the technology for industrial processes. The contractor will also identify pathways to the marketplace and develop a business plan that will facilitate the technology's introduction into the marketplace.
