Document Description
This project consists of various agricultural water management modifications on two separate ranches in the Shasta Valley. All infrastructure modifications are designed to improve water management, improve irrigation efficiencies, reduce the amount of cold water resources being utilized for irrigation, increase cold water returns to the river system, and improve fish screening. The components of this project are designed to improve water quality by decreasing temperatures and increasing DO in the Shasta River and Parks Creek, an anadromous fishery, and known spawning and rearing habitat for the federally threatened Coho Salmon. The project addresses numerous regional and regulatory priorities and provides benefits to water quality and aquatic habitat along the Shasta River and its tributaries.
