Document Description
CDFW has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2015-0248-R2, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Sierra Pacific Industries, or Mr. Frank Mulhair acting on behalf of project Applicant.
The project entails two options for a temporary Class I watercourse crossing, dependent upon streamflow conditions the year of, and during timber operations:
1. The installation of a temporary low profile crossing consisting of a series of shallow troughs (3 to 6), oriented parallel to streamflow, followed by the installation of 8 inch to 10 inch corrugated metal pipes (CMP) set within each of the troughs. The number of troughs/CMP's to be installed will be dependent upon streamflow present at time of operations. A sufficient number of CMP's will be installed to adequately convey streamflow. Upon completion of use, the CMP's shall be pulled and the channel restored to allow unimpeded flow and to bring the channel to pre-project conditions, to the extent feasible.
2. Should the watercourse remain completely dry during timber operations, the Permittee may choose to use the existing ford crossing. If this option is employed, the channel will be shaped to accommodate truck traffic. No fill will be imported into or placed within the Watercourse and Lake Protection Zone (WLPZ) of the watercourse. Clean, angular 1.5 inch to 6 inch rock, devoid of fines, will be utilized as a runnign surface over the crossing.
Regardless of either option, approaches will be rocked for a minimum of 25 feet from either side of the high water mark of the crossing. Further info can be found in the THP 4-12-022-CAL.
