The Santa Barbara Unified School District proposes to renovate Peabody Stadium at Santa Barbara High School including upgrading the track, leveling the playing field and installing artificial turf surface, a replacement grandstand structure, and modernized lighting and sound systems. Pedestrian pathways serving the stadium facility will be reconstructed to meet ADA accessibility standards and new landscaping will be planted around the stadium and adjacent to reconstructed pathways. The District also proposes to update the drainage system beneath Peabody Stadium. The proposed improvements are intended to achieve compliance with current building code, including ADA accessibility standards, and allow the stadium to better serve students and the Santa Barbara Community.
