Document Description
The project is limited to the repair and rehabilitation of the Madera Lane Bridge, which was constructed in 1920 and is approximately 64 feet (ft) in length and 21 feet (ft) in width. The existing exterior girders will be replaced with new, pre-stressed concrete I-girders that will be made continuous with the existing structure with an extension of the cast-in-place concrete deck and cast-in-place concrete diaphragms at the abutments and bent. The existing spalls and cracks in the deck soffit, Bent 2, interior girder and deck bays will be patched and repaired. The existing bridge deck will be protected by removing the existing bituminous deck overlay and constructing polyester concrete deck overlay of the existing concrete bridge deck. New hand railings will be installed, the existing metal beam guard railings will be replaced and the existing approaches will be modified to conform to the final deck grade. A protective cover, used to prevent any materials, equipment or debris from falling into the creek, will be constructed prior to commencement of work and supported by members of the existing structure. Issuance of a Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2015-0360-R3 is pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1602.
