Document Description
Note: Shortened Per Lead
The proposed project is located on Apple Road approx. 3,300 feet southeast of Dillard Road and includes the replacement of an existing bridge structure over Fruit Channel along Apple Road. The project will result in the removal of an existing structure consisting of four corrugated metal pipes that are five feet in diameter and topped with concrete and asphalt. The existing structure is approx. 23 feet long and 27 feet wide. The existing approach roadway width is approx. 20 feet wide. The roadway and bridge currently accommodates two travel lanes. The existing structure was constructed in 1980 and is considered functionally obsolete.
The Sacramento County DOT plans to replace this functionally obsolete bridge with a bridge that meets American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials minimum standards. The new bridge will be the same approx. length as the existing bridge but will be widened to have an adequate curb to curb width, shoulders, bridge railings, and guardrails.
