Document Description
CDFW has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2017-0192-R3, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, San Mateo County Resource Conservation District.
Instream coho salmon and steelhead trout habitat enhancement through large wood (LWD) installations will occur throughout 0.42 miles of mainstem San Gregorio Creek. Approx. 21 redwood logs will be sourced onsite from upslope, non-riparian trees. Additionally, up to 3 Douglas fir logs with rootwads and 2-4 boulders will be sourced from an onsite for use in the LWD structures. A total of 12-13 large wood structures are to installed along the project reach. all project large wood will be anchored with hardware as described in CDFW's CA Salmonid Stream Habitat Restoration Manual, 4th edition. Project will utilize the following techniques from the manual: log pinning with rebar (p. 179), stream bank anchors using rebar (p. 180), and bedrock and boulder anchors using threaded rebar (p. 181). All anchoring and positioning of LWD and boulders will be done with oversight from a qualified and licensed professional engineer.
