Document Description
The U.S. Coast Guard proposes to homeport four Fast Response Cutters (FRCs) and provide landside and water-side facilities and infrastructure at USCG Base Los Angeles Long Beach (Base LA/LB) Base LA/LB is located in the western half of Reservation Point, at the southern end of Terminal Island, in the City of Los Angeles, CA. It is located within the Port of Los Angeles - Long Beach complex.
To support homeporting of the four FRCs, the USCG proposes to install up to 800 feet of concrete floats and associated guide piles adjacent to the existing pier, build a 13,500 sq. ft. Maintenance Augmentation Team / Cutter support facility, and make ancillary improvements such as pier-side electrical improvements. Existing on-base parking and utilities would be adequate to accommodate the FRCs.
