Document Description
Project is limited to the replacement of a collapsed non-functional culvert and restoration of the riparian habitat 25 feet upstream and downstream of the culvert. The deteriorated 12 inch by 10 inch long corrugated metal pipe culvert will be removed and replaced with a 12 inch by 10 foot high density polyethylene pipe culvert. Riparian restoration will consist of removing the nonnative pampas grass and ngaio trees with hand tools and/or cut and then spot treated with herbicide. Approx. 1,380 sq. ft. will be planted with native vegetation. After planting in the fall, a broad-spectrum pre-emergent herbicide will be applied to the planting area, except for a 10-foot by 10-foot patch used to test exotic re-emergence. Regular monitoring visits will be conducted to assess the spread of invasive vegetation and to determine if additional management actions will be necessary the following year. The site will be managed the following two years with a combination of hand pulling in early spring and herbicide application. Issuance of a Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2015-0145-R3 is pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1602.
