Document Description
The project is the approval of a Removal Action Workplan (RAW) by the DTSC that would authorize activities to address hazardous materials including lead and total petroleum hydrocarbons detected in soil, and methane and volatile organic compounds detected in soil vapor at the proposed Rockwood Charter High School site. Activities to be conducted pursuant to the approved RAW include: - Installation of vapor barriers with active venting/sub-slab depressurization beneath all structures to be constructed onsite; - Installation of catch basins and passive venting beneath the hardscape areas to be constructed onsite; - Recording a Land Use Covenant with the Los Angeles County Assessor's Office prohibiting certain activities that will disrupt the soil; and - Developing an Operation and Maintenance Plan that will require long-term obligations of the landowner, including reporting requirements to the DTSC.
