Document Description
The ACECP will encompass four stages over approximately 5 years: Phase 1 involves site preparation and demolition of the existing EPS eastern fuel oil storage tank farm (will become 30-acre power plant footprint, east of the North Coast Corridor Railroad tracks); Phase 2 will be the construction and commissioning of the new, 632 MW power plant comprised of six simple cycle General Electric LMS100 natural gas fired, simply cycle combustion turbines that will interconnect with San Diego Gas & Electric's existing 138 kV and (expanded) 230 kV onsite switchyard facilities; Phase 3 will be the decommissioning of the existing EPS facility and related infrastructure extensions (including all Once-Through Cooling facilities); and Phase 4 demolition of all above ground EPS facilities west of the railroad tracks, including the 400 ft EPS exhaust stack, for the joint non-power redevelopment by the project owner and the city of Carlsbad.
