Document Description
The proposed project would renovate 4,875 assignable sq. ft. on the first floor of Engineering Hall to support specialized research transmission electron microscopes (TEMs) for the new Irvine Materials Research Institute (IMRI). The project scope includes physical and utility infrastructure to support operation of the TEM facility. Due to sensitivity of TEM equipment, instrument suites would be physically isolated within Engineering Hall with strict environmental controls and restrictions to limit access, vibration, electromagnetic interference (EMI), acoustical disruption, temperature, humidity, and airflow.
