Document Description
Restore the man-made entrance meadow with the natural riparian forest ath one occupied this location at Henry Cowell State Park to manage natural resources. Work will plant native trees into this site, place a 24" diameter circle of mulch around each tree to limit competition and reduce evaporation from the root zone; install woven or welded wire cages to protect trees from the wildlife and will be removed after the trees are established. Install a temporary drip irrigation system to water trees monthly beginning in April after planting and continuing until significant rains make it unnecessary, the drip irrigation system will be removed after the trees are established.

Minor alteration in the condition of land and vegetation that do not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees except for forestry purposes and is included as "resource management projects" not exceeding five acres in size to assure the maintenance, restoration, enhancement, or protection of habitat for plants, or wildlife provided that the projects will provide revegetion of disturbed areas with native plant species and restore or enhance habitat that are carried out principally with hand labor and not mechanized equipment in the Department of Parks and Recreation's list of exempt activities, in accordance with CCR 15300.4.
