Document Description
SMUD proposes to relocate the existing 80,000 pound per hour (lb/hour) boiler from the Hackman Capital site in Sacramento, CA to the CVFA site in Elk Grove, CA. The relocated boiler (Figure 1), currently equipped with ultra-low NOx burner, will serve as an auxiliary boiler and will tie into the existing CVFA system. The proposed project will augment the relocated boiler with a new Selective Catalytic Reduction system (SCR), Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) package, boiler stack, transition ductwork, deaerator, and boiler feedwater pumps. Additionally, the auxiliary boiler will also be equipped with a new external superheater that will increase steam enthalpy for use at the adjacent Glacier Ice facility. The proposed superheater is designed for 58,000 lb/hr or 64 percent of the boiler's production rate. electrical conduits will be installed either through an overhead rack or via trenching.
