Document Description
DWR will make available up to 16,705 acre-feet of KCWA's approved SWP Table A water at O'Neill Forebay to Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) for subsequent delivery by Reclamation to the San Joaquin River Exchange Contractors for use on lands outside of SWP place of use. This is to facilitate the return of Kern-Tulare Water District's (Kern-Tulare) and Delano-Earlimart Irrigation District's (DEID) Central Valley Project (CVP) water supplies previously stored in KCWA's service area. In exchange, KCWA will retain a like amount of Kern-Tulare's and DEID previously stored CVP water for use in KCWA's service area. Kern-Tulare and DEID will then receive a like amount of San Joaquin River water, normally delivered to the SJR Exchange Contractors, which will instead be released by Reclamation from Millerton Lake into the Friant-Kern Canal.
