Document Description
The Cordilleras Mental Health Center was originally built in 1952 as a tuberculosis hospital and was converted to a psychiatric facility in 1968. The County proposes replacing the 3-story CMHC building with five 16-bed residential buildings and a campus center building with up to 55 beds on its upper floor. The project would be designed with LEED measures including solar panels on the buildings. The residential capacity of the CHMC would be expanded from 117 to 135 beds. Facility staffing would be increased from 86 to 145 full-time equivalents. Parking would be expanded from 65 to 85 spaces. The project is proposed to address building safety standards, provide current treatment practices and support services, and meet requirements for federal reimbursement.
