Document Description
The project consists of expanding the capacity of the Ray Stoyer WRF from 2 million gallongs per day (mgd) to 6 mgd. The capacity would be increased by installing additional conventional treatment facilities, converting biological basins to nitrogen removal only, installing a 2.2 mgd (annual average) advanced water treatment plant (AWTP), and upgrading pumps at an off-site influent pump station. The project would allow additional recycled water to be provided to the customers within the Padre Dam Western Service Area, which would reduce potable water use consumption. The project also would enable Padre Dam to proudce highly treated recycled water, or purified water (using free chlorination, micro-filtration, reverse osmosis, and advanced oxidation) for potable reuse purposes. Purified water produced from the project would be sent to a Santee Groundwater Basin for injection into the aquifer or to Lake Jennings for surface water augmentation (which is not a part of the proposed project).
