Document Description
West Basin proposes to expand the CRWRF to meet additional recycled water demand from the Tesoro Carson Refinery in Carson. The project includes the construction of an additional 2,779 acre-feet per year (AFY) of microfiltration treatment capacity. The existing MF system (nine units) will be expanded by four (N+1) MF units, each containing 70 modules. One new 500 kW stand-by generator will be installed to provide back-up power for the existing reverse osmosis product pumps. An additional 2,239 AFY membrane bioreactor (t-MBR) nitrification system will consists of two aeration basin tanks followed by four membrane tanks. Additionally, two new NaOH storage tanks (350 gallon bulk tote and 250 gallon delivery tote); a sodium bi-sulfite (NaHSO3) dosing system; one new NaHSO3 storage tank (100 gallons); and two new citric acid storage tanks (350 gallon bulk tote and 250 gallon delivery tote) will be required.
