Document Description
The objective of the project is to reduce the potential for environmental and public health and safety risks associated with unstable slopes and exposure to waste, and to reduce the potential for groundwater and surface water contamination. The project will remove and reconsolidate approximately 10,000 cubic yards of waste from a former burn dump. Excavation and waste removal will occur until exposed soils meet cleanup criteria and reconsolidated waste will be covered with at least 24 inches of clean soils conditioned to minimize future erosion and provide positive drainage off of the waste prism. Native seed blends will be applied to the site to promote vegetation growth and long-term stability of the final cover soil. For a complete project description, see section 4.4 of the MND (pp. 8-9).
