Document Description
The purpose of the project is to improve fish and wildlife habitat in Lower Putah Creek, primarily by restoring natural form and function to the creek's channel and floodplain. The project will grade the existing floodplain to a 1-2 percent slope, starting from approximately 2 feet above low-flow water surface elevation. The project will also fill and narrow over-widened segments of the low-flow channel, and fill a branch of the braided low-flow channel that is undercutting an embankment. Invasive weeds within the project area will be controlled, and native vegetation will be installed throughout the recontoured floodplain. A side channel and spawning gravel will also be installed.
