Document Description
DTSC is considering approval of two Removal Action Work Plans (RAWs) and an Interim Corrective Measures Work Plan for the former Naval Petroleum Reserve No. 1 (NPR-1) property pursuant to Chapter 6.5 of the California Health & Safety Code. The RAWs and the ICMW, which are incorporated by reference, consist of excavation of landfill material/debris and potentially impacted soil that may release chemicals of concern (COCs) at levels that may pose a risk to human health. The documents evaluate remediation action alternatives and identify a preferred action to address the Areas of Concern (AOCs) in the Corrective Action Consent Agreement, signed by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and DTSC in 2008. The preferred remediation action alternative includes excavation of soil/debris and landfill materials at the AOCs.
