Document Description
The proposed project is the 29th Annual Navy Bay Bridge Run Walk, which will take place on Sunday, May 17, 2015. Set-up and tear-down of event amenities will occur at Coronado Tidelands Park from May 15 through May 18, 2015, with the event taking place on May 17, 2014. The District will provide event sponsorship and financial assistance for the event, a 4-mile run/walk over the San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge hosted by the Navy. The run/walk over the San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge hosted by the Navy. The run/walk will start at the intersection of One Park Blvd. and Harbor Drive near the San Diego Convention Center, will travel south along Harbor Drive to Cesar E. Chavez Parkway, will continue east to National Avenue, will across over the Coronado Bay Bridge, and will end at Coronado Tidelands Park. There will be a post-ride festival with food, beverages, and entertainment at the park. The event has an expected attendance of approx. 11,000 people. In addition, the event will require the use of approx. 206 parking spaces at Coronado Tidelands Park on May 17, 2015. Since the parking spaces will be reserved for a limited time period, the project will not result in significant impacts related to public parking. Parking will be available at the public parking facilities serving Shelter Island, Harbor Island, the Embarcadero, Seaport Village, and Coronado. Finally, parking will be available facilities located near the San diego Convention Center.
