Document Description
In August 2016, Regional San filed Wastewater Change Petition WW0092 with the Division of Water Rights requesting to reduce Sacramento Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant's treated wastewater discharge into the Sacramento River by up to 50,000 acre-feet annually. The treated wastewater will be used for irrigation purposes on approximately 16,560 acres of agricultural lands in southern Sacramento County, and has the potential to increase storage in the local groundwater basin and enhance surface water flows in the Cosumnes River. The project will also deliver treated wastewater to support 400 acres of wetland habitat at the Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge.
