Document Description
The Fairfield 2014 Housing Element addresses the existing and projected housing needs of the City and complies with State law requiring adoption of a revised Housing Element by January 24, 2015 (Section 65580 - 65589.8 of the Government Code) which addresses all current requirements in State code and policy pertaining to Housing Elements. The 2014 Housing Element is a required Element of the Fairfield General Plan which guides the provision of housing for all segments of Fairfield, including housing affordable to lower income households and housing for persons with special needs. The Housing Element also addresses other policy goals, including support for diverse housing types, infill development, flexibility in regulation of housing, and housing near transit and services.
