Document Description
The project involves constructing and underground pedestrian passageway below 7th Street to connect the existing 7th Street/Metro Center subway station to the under construction 1.8 million sf mixed use development called The Bloc (formerly Macy's Plaza). The station currently serves the Red, Purple, Expo, and Blue Lines. The original station was built with "knock-out panels" to facilitate station connections to designations near the station. The tunnel will be 17 lineal feet in length and 20 feet wide by 15 feet high. The tunnel will be approximately 27 feet below grade. The tunnel will join to the lower level of the future mall and provide street access via escalators.
