Document Description
Replacement of two existing gantry cranes (35 and 70 metric ton capacities) with new modernized gantry cranes with higher lift capacities (70 and 150 metric tons); and two new 90-foot long pier segments to accommodate the higher capacity 150 ton crane. Project involves up to 1,240 sf of new in-water piers, piles and docks and corresponding removal of up to 1,247 sf of existing piles and docks for net decrease of 7 sf overall. The site is documented as not having any eelgrass. Project also involves the removal of existing storage and maintenance sheds within the boatyard to accommodate the new pier construction and gantry crane approach area; replacement of existing concrete slab areas; and two areas of repair to the existing boatyard bulkhead/seawall. Construction is anticipated to begin in early 2014 for a period of up to six months.
