Document Description
The project will place two metal outdoor speakers under the stair platforms on Barracks #1 (downhill and uphill main entrances). The speakers will be connected to a concealed control panel in the Post Store (first floor of barracks). During scheduled Environmental Living History Programs, the staff will play period correct Army bugle calls thru the speakers (reveille, assembly, mess, mail, retreat, tattoo, etc.) to enhance the visitor experience at the Fort. The wooden stair landings that the speakers will be attached to are not historic fabric (1980s addition) and will be camouflaged as to be unnoticeable to the general public. The speakers will also be removable, as any wires or power cords.
