Document Description
This project involves the proposed acquisition of five real property parcels owned by the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Commission by the Sixth District Agricultural Association (also known as the California Science Center). The parcels area located in Parking Lot 1 and Parking Lot 3/Jesse Brewer Park and consists of 1.87 acres of non-contiguous developed parking. The five parcels area (a) 3777-3781 Menlo Avenue, (b) 3987 Menlo Avenue, (c) 3789 Menlo Avenue, (d) 3990 S. Vermont Avenue and (e) 901 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The acquisition part of a proposed lease amendment involving the consolidation of the parking parcels into the surrounding parking lots owned by the California Science Center (CSC).

The five subject parcels are presently used in the same manner and capacity they will be used upon proposed acquisition by the CSC. No physical modifications are required to complete this project. The activity is covered by the general rule that CEQA applies only to projects which have the potential for causing a significant effect on the environment. It can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility that the activity in question may have a significant effect on the environment; the activity is not subject to CEQA. The project involves no expansion of use and will have a negligible effect on resources in the area.
