Document Description
The project is limited to the replacement of two falling corrugated metal pipe (CMP) flash board risers and associated culverts that are used to decant dredge water into adjacent stream channels. One structure would be replaced in kind in its current location. The second structure would be relocated approximately 1,400 linear feet southeast along the levee so that it discharge to the tidal area, avoiding the storm water channel it current discharges into. The relocation would have added benefit of enhancing the brackish tidal marsh to the south, while eliminating the vegetation die-off from the salt water intrusion into the storm water channel that is a tributary to Adobe Creek. The water control structures will be constructed of precast concrete approximately 48-inches wide and 60-inches tall connected to a High-density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipe that will run through the width of the levee. At the water control structure to be relocated, a short swale will be constructed to control flow into the water control structure. Issuance of a Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2013-0256-R3 is pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1602.
