To achieve this, 9 exploratory soil borings and 13 cone penetrometer test (CPT) soundings will be conducted within public rights-of-way along the proposed Fresno to Bakersfield HST alignment corridor. The borings and CPT soundings will be completed using rigs positioned on or adjacent to paved areas; areas of native vegetation will not be affected. The data collected during this geotechnical investigation project will be presented and analyzed in a technical report. The High-Speed Rail Authority will use the data to support procurement.
