Document Description
The project is a grant award to the County of San Bernardino to propose a Renewable Energy and Conservation Element in the County General Plan. The county will also propose strategic refinements to the components of the county regulatory system that govern eligible renewable energy resources and natural resource conservation and prepare an Environmental Impact Report (EIR( for the project. The goal of the project is to expand renewable energy opportunuities in the County while at the same time implementing the conservation goals of the Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan. The project benefits the public by adding certainty to the eligible renewable energy resource development process, thereby reducing the development costs for renewable energy, ensuring conservation of priority natural resources, and contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from the electric power sector.
