Document Description
The CSLC has statutory authority, pursuant to Public Resources Code section 6826, to issue geophysical permits in State waters to qualified permittees for the use of low energy geophysical equipment to perform geophysical surveys of the ocean bottom, subject to specified terms and conditions. The CSLC has proposed the Low Energy Offshore Geophysical Permit Program (OGPP) Update as a means to develop and implement a revised permitting structure for offshore geophysical surveys it permits under existing law, in order to establish consistent guidance, limitations, and permit conditions and ensure that the activities of permittees do not result in a significant effect on the environment.
