Document Description
The City of Glendale, in partnership with Allan Company, is proposing to increase the amount and types of solid waste material processed at the existing Glendale Material Recovery Facility in order to comply with State mandated commercial and multi-family waste stream recycling requirements. AB 341, which was adopted on July 1, 2012, increases the State of California's benchmark for waste diversion from 50 percent to 75 percent. The state legislation also included mandatory commercial and multi-family residential recycling with the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This project is being proposed to meet the City of Glendale's commercial and multi-family residential recycling requirements.
