Document Description
The City of Glendale is proposing to add the processing of mixed waste to the existing City of Glendale/Allan Company Material Recovery Facility (MRF) and buy back center which is located on a 1.73 acre site. Incoming loads will include source separated curbside material and mixed waste from commercial and multi-family residences. The incoming material will be processed over a sort line and the various recyclable materials separated for transport to commodity markets and end users. Residual material will be transported to the Scholl Canyon Landfill. The facility will be permitted to process up to 250 tons per day of material with an overall estimated diversion rate of approximately 75 percent. The project will also require a Solid Waste Facility Permit from the CA Dept. of Resources Recycling and Recovery to process mixed waste and recyclables.
