Remove a weakened, decaying historic coast live oak in front of the Jack London cottage at Jack London State Historic Park to prevent damage to the cottage and injury to staff and visitors from falling tree limbs. Work will remove selected limbs from the east side of the tree to balance the canopy and increase safety; remove all but the stump of the tree after bird nesting season (August 30) if possible; if removal must occur during the nesting season and a nest is present, removal will occur after young have fledged; replace the tree with acorns, a cutting or a sapling harvested from beneath or within the tree from the existing tree.
DPR-approved standard project requirements have been incorporated into the Hazard Tree Removal project.
