Document Description
Pursuant to Energy Executive Order B-18-12 calling for a reduction in energy usage of 20 percent by the year 2018 for all state facilities, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) is undertaking numerous energy savings projects. At Salinas Valley State Prison (SVSP), CDCR is planning to retrofit existing lighting. The project includes the following components: 1) retrofit fixtures with F32T8 lamps and electronic ballasts to F28T8 lamps and new high efficiency low power electronic ballasts; 2) convert T12 fixtures to 28w lamps and ballasts; 3) replace 23w, 60w, and 75w screw-in compact fluorescents and incandescent lamps with LED screw in lamps; 4) replace compact fluorescent exit signs with LED exit signs; and 5) upgrade various 70w, 100w, 150w, 175w, 250w, & 400w high pressure sodium and metal halide high bay, surface mount, wall pack, and flood fixtures to 40w, 100w and/or 150w induction fixtures.
