Document Description
The project consists of the construction of a new pedestrian creek crossing along the Jo Smith Nature Trail in the Carmichael community. The bridge will be placed just upstream of the current Sacramento Area Sewer District's sewer pipe crossing. The new bridge will be a pre-fabricated metal structure ten feet wide and approximately 200 feet long. The decking on the bridge will consist of a slip resident material to ensure proper footing. New bridge abutments will be constructed on both sides of the creek, and depending on the recommendations from the manufacture, a single support pier may be placed mid-way outside of the wetted stream channel. The new bridge crossing will meet current pedestrian standards and will accommodate future Class 1 bicycle facilities.
