Document Description
Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy ("FSHA") is an all girls Catholic, independent high school funded by the Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose in 1931. The school's original 1927 mission style building was designed as a resort hotel by noted Southern California architect, Myron Hunt. Additional buildings added to the FSHA campus after 1931 were not designed by Myron Hunt. FSHA proposes a Master Plan to complete the process that was started in the early 1990's to renovate campus. In 1994, FSHA obtained a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) that included a student enrollment cap of 385, and approved new structures, including a Student Activities Center and soccer/softball field (completed in 1998), a major renovation of the theatre building to replace the existing 1956 auditorium and an upgrade of the existing high school classroom building. The theatre and high school projects approved in the 1994 CUP have not been constructed. It is the intent of FSHA Master Plan to complete the unfinished projects, upgrade existing facilities, and increase the enrollment cap to more accurately reflect FSHA's capacity.
