Present Land Use
The majority of the project area is designated for Public/Institutional use as part of the County Administration Center.
Document Description
The project will abandon in place an approximately 1500-foot long, 15-inch diameter sewer main spanning approximately 925 linear feet of Paulin Creek. Most work will be completed within the County road right of way but the abandonment process will impact the riparian zone of Paulin Creek. As part of the sewer line abandonment process, the City will need to abandon six manholes located above the ordinary high water mark but within the riparian zone. The abandonment process will require excavation of 8-foot diameter pits approximately 4.5-foot deep at each of the manholes using a mini-excavator or similar equipment. This amount to approximately 300 square feet of temporary disturbance to the riparian area. All disturbed areas will be refilled with soil, compacted, and revegetated. The abandoned pipe will be filled with sand slurry.
