Document Description
Liquid Waste Management Inc. (LWMI) (project operator) has requested a modification of a CUP (CUP1, Map 118) to allow for expansion of an existing nonhazardous oil production and/or oily waste disposal facility within an A zone district. The McKittrick Waste Treatment Site (MWTS or facility) includes a Class II landfill disposal area, supporting uses and facilities on 27.1 acres of the 50-acre. The current Solid Waste Facility Permit (SWFP No. 15-AA-0105) would also be modified. The project proposes to expand the landfill footprint onto the adjacent 40-acre parcel. For purposes of this process, the existing facility is described as being located on the east parcel and the proposed expansion is described as being on the west parcel. Additionally, a zone change (ZCC 4, Map 118) from A-1 (Limited Agriculture) to A (Extensive Agriculture), has been proposed to bring the east parcel into consistency with the General Plan map code designation 3.4 (Solid Waste Facility). The proposed project would revise the SWFP by increasing the currently permitted daily tonnage from 1,180 tons per day (tpd) to 3,000 tpd.
