Document Description
The ECBMF project would accommodate additional bus and employee parking, a new bus vehicle maintenance facility and related ancillary uses and site improvements. Specific proposed modifications/improvements include the following: Removal of the existing 30,000 square-foot maintenance building and construction of a new, approximately 45,000 to 50,000-square foot maintenance and administration/operations building; Removal of the existing bus wash area and construction of a new bus wash bay; and Expansion of surface parking to accommodate 125-140 buses and 100-150 employee vehicles (a net increase of 15-30 bus spaces and 20-50 vehicle spaces). Additional specific improvements would include the following: Demolition of the existing maintenance warehouse located at 1213 North Johnson Avenue to accommodate parking spaces for 102 buses, a CNG fueling station, CNG compressors, yard storage, and a new bus wash; Demolition of the building located at 540/544 Vernon Way to accommodate the proposed maintenance and administration/operations building: and demolition of two buildings located at 1214 Pioneer Way to accommodate 6 overnight bus spaces and 129 employee parking spaces. The new maintenance facility would include 8 building bays, parts storage, outside patio, a tire servicing area and a steam rack.
