Document Description
The Scott River Riparian Restoration Project proposes to reduce instream sediment and temperature loads in the ScottRiver through riparian planting and stream bank bio-engineering. The Scott River is listed for temperature and sediment under the Scott River TMDL (adopted 2005). The riparian corridor creates a series of benefits to the water quality of the stream shade, bank stabilization, filtration of pollutants, and generation of channel complexity and fish habitat. This project will restore an eight kilometer reach of Scott River Mainstream by increasing the occurrence and density of riparian vegetation and extending the width and linear distance of the currently extant riparian corridor. The project focuses on a specific reach of the Scott River between River Kilometer 58 and 64 (French Creek to Kidder Creek).
