The Town of Truckee is proposing to construct 2.11 miles of Class I (paved, multi-use) trail along the Truckee River. For most of its length, the trail will consist of a 10-foot wide asphalt concrete paved trail with 2-foot wide aggregate base shoulders on either side. The Truckee River Legacy Trail Phase 3B consists of a trail extension beginning at the easterly end of the recently completed Phase 3A segment and follows along the south bank of the Truckee River past the Tahoe-Truckee Sanitation Agency Wastewater Treatment Plant, spans Martis Creek, and then ascends to a connection to Glenshire Drive. The trail will cross Martis Creek upstream of its confluence with the Truckee River. This crossing will consist of a prefabricated steel bridge. A portion of the trail (approximately 240 feet) will be constructed within the 100-year floodplain of the Truckee River.
