Document Description
CDFW has executed lake and streambed alteration agreement no. 1600-2015-0035-R2, pursuant to section 1602 of the fish and game code to the project applicant, Placer County Water Agency.
The Ralston Afterbay Sediment Project consists of three primary project activities intended to increase water storage capacity and manage excessive sediment/erosion in the Middle Fork American River (MFAR)/Rubicon River watershed as a result of the 2014 King Fire: physical removal of approximately 100,000 cubic yards of accumulated sediment and debris from Ralston Afterbay using heavy equipment; placement of sediment downstream of the Ralston Afterbay Dam to enhance natural sediment transport and delivery (Indian Bar and Junction Bar); and disposal of remaining sediment not used for augmentation at an approved disposal area (Ralston Ridge Sediment Disposal Area).
