Placer County Water Agency owns and operates the Middle Fork American River Project under a 50-year Federal Energy Regulatory Commission license, which will expire on February 28, 2013. Using FYI Final FERC's Integrated Licensing Process, PCWA is seeking the renewal of its license to continue operation and maintenance of the MFP. The MFP serves as a multi-purpose water supply and hydro-generation project designed to conserve and control waters of the Middle Fork American River, the Rubicon River, and several associated tributary streams. The MFP is located on the west slope of the Sierra Nevada range primarily in Placer County, CA.
