The project involves several enhancements to Merced County's Henderson Park including a refurbished trail system to provide the public with safe access to river-side recreation, a restored non-motorized water craft launch site, disability access, educational signage, remodeling of restrooms and updating and improving drinking fountains, habitat restoration for juvenile and adult salmonids, providing open space and flood management, enhancing interpretive facilities, and working with water user to improve fish passage and reducing channel maintenance needs, while improving habitat for native fish species, emphasizing fall-run Chinook salmon and steelhead. The State Lands Commission action is a 20-year General Lease - Public Agency Use through June 20, 2033.
