Document Description
The project is the replacement of the sanitary sewer line serving Kingridge Drive between Fernwood Street and 42nd Avenue in the City of San Mateo. The sewer line is currently located within "Kingridge Canyon". A small, unnamed, intermittent tributary of Laurel Creek is located at the bottom of the canyon. The existing 60-year-old sewer line is undersized per current City standards, and has been damaged over time by landslides. The proposed project includes three main components: (1) replacing the undersized and structurally compromised sewer main, (2) providing slope stabilization in areas where active landslides are present, and (3) implementing storm drain improvements to reduce erosion. The project is intended to improve the functioning of the sewer system and reduce effects on aquatic habitat.
