Plan Bay Area Regional Transportation Plan / Sustainable Communities Strategy Draft EIR

Note: Addendum to FEIR. July 2013, MTC and ABAG adopted Plan Bay Area (Plan). The Plan focus on supporting housing and job growth around transit and specifies the strategies and investments to maintain, manage, and improve the region's transportation network - which includes bicycle and pedestrian facilities, local streets and roads, public transit systems, and highways. The federally required Transportation Improvement program (TIP) is a comprehensive listing of Bay Area surface transportation projects that are to receive federal funding or are subject to a federally required action, or are considered regionally significant for transportation/air quality conformity purposes. The 2015 TIP is valid for four years from fiscal year 2014-15 through fiscal year 2017-18. MTC prepared amendments to the Plan and 2015 TIP, including an EIR Addendum and transportation conformity analysis, to add the I-580/Richmond-San Rafael Bridge Access Improvements Project. The Project aims to reduce traffic congestion on eastbound I-580 in Marin County and provide bicycle and pedestrian access between Contra Costa and Marin Counties.
