Document Description
The Regional San will upgrade its SRWTP facilities within an approximately 900-acre project site, to meet the wastewater treatment needs of the greater Sacramento area and comply with updated National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit requirements for the reduction of total nitrogen and ammonia levels in its effluent. In addition to implementing upgrades for existing primary and secondary treatment facilities, the project will install tertiary filtration treatment for pathogen removal. Facility improvements would result in an improvement of treated effluent water quality; however, the new facilities would not increase capacity.
