Present Land Use
Existing school site and vacant District-owned land in the Alpaugh Urban Boundary, zoned Rural Residential
Document Description
DTSC approved the Removal Action Workplan (RAW) for the project. The objective of the RAW is to mitigate potential risk to human health and environment by excavation and offsite disposal of approx. 480 bank cubic yards of soil containing concentrations of organochlorine pesticides exceeding unrestricted land use cleanup goals. The MND analyzed the Alpaugh Unified School District's proposal to redevelop the existing school site in two phases to support a Master Plan Capacity of up to 1,100 students and 25 classrooms in grades K-12. Phase 1 would consist of construction of the new classroom buildings and two computer labs. The school library and administration services would also be located on the ground floor. Phase 2 would consist of the construction of a new gymnasium and multipurpose/cafeteria building.
